Opening: 14 December, 6pm

ALMANAC presents Criminal Longing 3, a solo exhibition by London-based artist Adam Christensen.
A new series of works investigates the performativity and fluidity of identity and gender. Drawn on biographical and theatrical elements, the project is developed around a metal structure, a greenhouse, which becomes the stage for Christensen’s performances, exploring the everyday as spectacle and its narratives of love and desire.
An emotional scenery is composed by a new series of fabric works, depicting silhouettes of characters, the artist’s alter ego.
Informed by personal experiences and feelings, Christensen's performances activate the space, exploring the mise-en-scene of a subject, its construction and representation.
A female protagonist, like in the plot of an erotic thriller, explores danger and sex, combining different roles in her eccentric figure. A duplicity embodied with drama and humor; a double which recalls the ambiguity and complexity of the femme fatale in a film noir.
Adam and Madam de Dangé Laïm find themselves in the narratives of their adventures of passion and subversion, looking for the object of their desire, altering reality and norms.
Here the plot: ‘a neglected wife, some years into her lousy marriage, is advised by her friends to find satisfaction with some new blood’.

The stage, realized in collaboration with Ksenia Pedan, will be activated by a series of events:

11 January, 7pm -Spoken word night with Chloe Filani, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, rkss [Robin Buckley] curated by Queerdirect;
