Walk and foraging of edible and medicinal wild plants with Viviana Sorrentino
Viviana Sorrentino will lead a walk through the spaces of Orti Generali, in the river park along the banks of the Sangone stream. During the walk, Viviana will gather and narrate about the uses and properties of medicinal and edible plants that grow spontaneously in the area. Viviana Sorrentino holds a PhD from the University of Natural Sciences in Turin. Since 2009, she has been studying wild herbs in relation to their beneficial and healing properties, experimenting with foraging practices and cooking, using wild plants as nourishment, and promoting an ethically responsible approach to our relationship with nature.

Walk with Michele Lonati, reflecting on forms of coexistence, stratification, and alliance among species
botanist Michele Lonati will lead us on a walk to reflect on some of the central themes of the project—particularly the concepts of hybridization, toxicity, and rebirth—engaging with the ecosystems and biodiversity we will encounter in the area where Orti Generali is located.
Combining on-site exploration with theoretical contextualization, Lonati will reflect on forms of coexistence, stratification, and alliance among species, focusing particularly on phytosociology – how species 'socialize' with each other to form a plant community, establishing a profound bond of interdependence.
The project is realized by Almanac Inn, Castello di Rivoli Museo d'Arte Contemporanea, and Orti Generali.
Vibrant Natures is realized with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT and Regione Piemonte.
