As part of What’s your poison and as finissage of the exhibition, Almanac invites you to the screening of Sunday Fantasy, a film by Zoe Williams and Amy Gwatkin.

Sunday Fantasy plays with dissecting current representations of the erotic through a queered and female lens, in relation to notions of hedonism, consumption, role-play and the grotesque. Challenging the idea of singular authorship, Williams and Gwatkin worked with their friends and collaborators, artists Deniz Ünal and Nadja Voorham on the construction of the film, inviting them to enact their own and each other’s fantasies within it. The film is set to a specially composed soundtrack by musician David Aird. Sunday Fantasy was first shown as part of William’s solo exhibition, also titled Sunday Fantasy at Mimosa House Gallery, London in May 2019.

Zoe Williams (b.1983). Lives and works in London. Her practice incorporates a range of mediums including moving image, ceramics, drawing and performance-based work. Her work is often collaborative in its process and outcome. Through her practice she is interested in exploring and dissecting aspects of eroticism, craft, ritual, excess and hedonism. She has worked with institutions including; Mimosa House Gallery, London; David Roberts Art Foundation, London; Spike Island, Bristol; DCA Dundee and Glasgow International Festival.;Triangle and British Council, Crafting Futures residency, Nepal and Tate St ives. She is currently represented by Ciaccia Levi Gallery, Paris- Milan

Amy Gwatkin is an artist working in film and photography. Since graduating from University of Brighton she has worked in a variety of short forms, including performance documentation, fashion film and narrative fiction. She is currently developing her first feature length work after taking part in FLAMIN's New Approaches scheme. Previous works have premiered on Dazed, Nowness, and at LSFF and Underwire festivals in London, and shown internationally in Amsterdam, Barcelona and Berlin
